We offer MS-4 students (1-2 at a time) a 2-week elective (based on availability, student interest and time of year- generally June – September) to work with our residents and faculty in multiple outpatient and inpatient settings.
Highlights include:
- Outpatient med-peds sessions with med-peds faculty (including the program director) in several hospital owned and private practice settings in general med-peds or specialty care
- Sessions paired up with a med-peds resident and patient care in the med-peds resident practice
- Time in the Center for Special Health Care Needs
- Exposure to the inpatient Med-Peds service (homebound patients or patients with special health care needs), newborn nursery and general inpatient floor where med-peds residents/faculty are on teams
- Conferences, morning report, med-peds meetings and journal clubs
- Self-guided tour of Delaware sites including Nemours Children’s Hospital
- Career sessions with the Program Director and faculty members (graduates from this and other med-peds programs)
