Application Process

Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program

Application Process (updated June 2024)

Applications:

Our Med-Peds Program accepts applications only through ERAS. The deadline to apply is December 15 of each year. It is prudent to submit whatever material you can by the time ERAS® opens to have your application initially reviewed. Our interviews (virtual only) will occur from October – December. If you feel you are unable to meet this application deadline, please notify the Med-Peds residency program director at afriedland@christianacare.org.

Letters of Recommendation:

A minimum of three letters of recommendation from physicians directly involved with the applicant should be submitted. However:

For students that have completed both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics clerkships and/or Sub-I rotations please include 1 or more letters from each department. We do not require Chair letters or letters from Combined Med-Peds physicians.

For students missing rotations in either Internal Medicine or Pediatrics, you can initially submit a letter(s) from either Internal Medicine or Pediatrics. If possible, the additional letter(s) from the other specialty can be submitted later, prior to an interview, if selected. Please contact the residency program director at afriedland@christianacare.org if you anticipate difficulty in providing the additional letter, we may be able to provide an extension of submission to the time of our rank meeting in February. We do not require Chair letters or letters from Combined Med-Peds physicians.

Application Review: All applications are carefully reviewed and decisions for interviews are based upon the composite qualifications of the applicant.

Post-Interview Communication:
Our residents, faculty and leadership are open to continued dialogue/questions with applicants after the interview day but it is not a requirement. For those applicants that choose not to have continued dialogue/questions will not be penalized.
