ChristianaCare matches 3 spots each year to the general Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship through NRMP. Qualified applicants will have successfully completed three years of postgraduate training in an accredited internal medicine residency program in the United States or Canada prior to starting fellowship. Graduates from medical schools outside the United States and Canada must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates to qualify for admission.
We consider all Visa types for application.
The Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship program selects eligible applicants on the basis of their preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, previous experience, communication skills and personal qualities such as motivation and integrity. The program does not discriminate with regard to sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or veteran status.
For the 2023 interview season, all interviews will be performed virtually. There will be an opportunity for an on-site visit where applicants can tour the hospital in-person with the current cardiology fellows. Program leadership will be blinded as to who decides to visit the hospital in person, thus attendance will have no impact on the applicant’s rank position.
Applications
Applicants for positions in the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship must submit their applications via the Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS), and will be chosen through the National Resident Matching Program. Non-ERAS applications will not be accepted, and all candidates must register for the match.
Documentation to be submitted via ERAS:
- CV
- Letter from current or previous internal medicine program director
- 3 additional letters of recommendation
