Trainees will receive instruction in hemodynamic assessment, coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary interventions, plaque modification with lithotripsy and atherectomy, intracoronary imaging, coronary physiology, and mechanical circulatory support including Impella and ProTek Duo. Trainees with special interest in peripheral vascular intervention or structural cardiology will have the opportunity to receive additional training in these areas during the last 6 months of the training year.
In addition to clinical training, the interventional fellow will participate in the weekly Cath Lab Conference with formal didactics covering all areas of interventional cardiology to ensure preparedness for the interventional cardiology board exam. The interventional fellow will also present cases for review at the monthly Cath/Surgery Multidisciplinary conference.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- STEMI call one night per week and one weekend per month.
- Monday to Friday Cath Lab 7am to 5pm
- Tuesdays Cath Lab Conference 7am-8am
- Two days a month outpatient Interventional Cardiology Clinic (as required by ACGME)
