Wound Care Center

Residents work with board-certified physicians to care for patients at the ChristianaCare Wound Care Center on the Riverside Campus. Residents learn a multi-disciplinary approach to wound management, working closely with specialists in podiatric medicine, as well as family practice; internal medicine; vascular, plastic, and general surgery; orthopedics; and infectious disease.

Diverse training experience

Outside of the two main hospitals, the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery residents train at several additional facilities, most frequently at the ChristianaCare Surgicenter on the Newark campus. The ChristianaCare Surgicenter is an impressive, well-staffed outpatient surgery facility. The PMSR/RRA residents also assist podiatric physicians in surgeries at several affiliated sites such as St. Francis Hospital, Glasgow Medical Center, Delaware Outpatient Center for Surgery (DOCS), Center for Advanced Surgical Arts (CASA) and Orthopaedic Specialists Surgicenter (OSSC) to gain a more diverse surgical experience.
