Along with exceptional surgical and inpatient/acute care training, we also provide our residents with extensive hands-on clinical experience. The Community Podiatric Center at the Wilmington Hospital Health Center provides the resident physician a diverse foot and ankle pathology from a variety of referral sources such as outpatient medicine clinics and emergency room visits. Through involvement in the clinic, under the direct supervision of a podiatric physician, our residents receive important experience in office-based procedures, limb salvage and wound care, biomechanical examination, and pre/post-operative patient care related to elective foot and ankle surgery, effectively building a strong clinical foundation for future private practice.
