Learning and Teaching Opportunities
Emergency Medicine-Internal Medicine residents enjoy a wealth of opportunities for conferences and didactic sessions. Grand rounds in both departments feature local and visiting speakers of national and international renown.
Many members of the medical staff are on faculty at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. We encourage residents to broaden their knowledge through professional meetings and contributions to medical publications. Residents receive an annual allowance for conference or and other academic expenses.
EM-IM residents complete at least one scholarly activity during their training and are encouraged to publish or present their work at a local or national level. Additionally, EM-IM residents are afforded opportunities to develop their skills as educators in clinical, didactic and simulation settings for medical students and residents.
